Who we're looking for
We are seeking a hands-on Management Accountant to play a pivotal role during the integration of a recent acquisition into our business. This position will evolve as processes align with the transactional finance team, requiring adaptability and a proactive approach. The successful candidate will work independently, ensuring accurate financial reporting and providing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making during this critical phase.
What you'll be delivering
  • Integration SupportLead financial aspects of acquisition integration, including aligning accounting processes and systems with group standards; Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless transition of financial data and reporting structures.
  • Management Accounting DutiesPrepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and performance reports; Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts; Analyse financial performance and provide recommendations for cost control and efficiency improvements.
  • Process Development: Assist in designing and implementing improved financial processes as part of integration; Document workflows and identify opportunities for automation and standardisation.
  • Compliance & ControlsEnsure adherence to accounting standards and internal controls during integration and BAU activities; Liaise with auditors and support statutory reporting requirements.
  • Business PartneringProvide financial insights to senior management and operational teams; Act as a trusted advisor on financial implications of integration activities.
  • Ad Hoc Responsibilities: Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned by the finance Director or other senior staff, which may include assisting with audits, supporting other finance functions, and participating in process improvement initiatives.
We think you'll be successful in this role if you have some of the following
Education:   
  • Professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent). Part-qualified candidates will be considered if they are close to completing their qualification
  • Proven experience in management accounting, ideally within an acquisition or integration context.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and process improvement initiatives.

Skills: 
  • Strong technical knowledge of management accounting principles and acquisition accounting.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Proficiencyin accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
